No Bears (2022)
December 7
A dissident filmmaker relocates to a rural border town to direct a film remotely in nearby Turkey and finds himself embroiled in a local scandal.
The New German Cinema movement was one of the most influential to emerge out of the late 1960s and 1970s. In response to the stagnation of the German film industry, filmmakers craving a more personal and experimental approach to the craft addressed societal issues to achieve artistic significance.
Join us as we explore this movement in our new series with special introductions and Q&As with Gerard Amsellem, local teacher, artist, and filmmaker from New Wave Productions.
Tickets are $20 ($16 for MF Members). Purchase tickets to all five films and use discount code GERMAN24 for $15 off the General Admission bundle.
